Olympic Spirit

With the Olympic games starting today I'm very proud to dedicate this post to our Olympic hometown hopeful and fellow blogger.

Meet Heather Moyse from Summerside.  Athlete extraordinaire... with an Olympic dream.

Heather is an amazing Canadian athlete.  She competes not only in bobsleigh but is also an accomplished Rugby player, and is a current member of both the Canadian National Senior Women's XV as a full back and the Canadian National Senior Women's 7's team. Wow! Go Heather.  She has her website at http://www.heathermoyse.net/

All of Summerside will be cheering her on as she and her race partner, Kaillie Humphries compete for gold in the 2 person bobsleigh race at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Whistler, Canada.

Here is Heather lighting the caldron in a last December in Summerside during the Olympic Flame Relay Tour.  It's very fitting that she ran the torch into our small town during the flame event.  I was there that night and along with 3000 other attendees so very proud of her.

Heather is loved by lululemon and is one of several amazing athletes to grace their shopping bag during the holiday season.  This is what they had to say about her.  "Heather Moyse is a rugby player turned bobsledder who hails from Prince Edward Island. Besides her arms making us all incredibly jealous, Heather is amazingly dedicated athlete in multiple sports.

Our group of business owners, here at Harbour Terrace, are having this huge sign posted on the front of the building right outside the shop to show our support for Heather.  It was supposed to go up today but since it didn't I am showing our ad copy.

Push for it Heather.  Best of luck with your competition.  Believe.

Thanks for reading.  Have a great weekend!
Susan
